S. Rachmaninoff - Cello Sonata in G minor, Op.19 III. Andante
So how ‘bout that underlying F♯-G resolution in the key of E♭? By starting on an F♯, the movement becomes a lot more dissonant/tense (to this listener at least) than if Rachmaninoff had used a G♭ instead even though they’re enharmonically equivalent.
